Friday Favorites

Can I get an AMEN! It's Friday and I just couldn't be any happier about it! Like most Friday's I'm linking up today with 3 of my favorite bloggers for Friday Favorites. 1) Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

 

There are many reasons why I get excited for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. First of all the obvious he was a pretty cool guy, who did a lot of amazing things for our country.

Secondly one of my favorite memories of my Grandpa was him always saying "I was born on the same day, same year as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.".  Can't wait to go to my Grandma's on Sunday where she will make Pineapple Upside Down cake in honor of my Grandpa because it was his favorite.

 And my last reason for Loving MLK Day is that I get a 3 day weekend! Working at a Credit Union has its perks, and one of them is definitely getting all holidays off!

2) Our Possible Vacation This Summer

I have this habit of getting an idea in my mind and just not being able to let it go. One of my Coworkers, Shelbie, mentioned that her and her Fiance might be going to Pigeon Forge Tennessee for their honeymoon. I started looking up the cabins and FELL IN LOVE. From there I planned a whole little vacation in my mind in August.

 Now I say possible vacation because Seth isn't 100% on board yet, but I think it's gonna happen. The cabin above has 4 bedrooms and can sleep up to 13 people. We are looking to get some of best friends around to go and when you split the cost it is a super affordable vacation!

3) Having TWO Engaged Besties

If you think having one best friend engaged is fun try having 2, it's a BLAST.  I'm loving the texts I get about wedding plans and bridesmaid dresses! Check out my posts about these lovely ladies, here, here, and here.

Friday after work Seth's dad, sisters, and sisters boyfriend came over to our house for a little bit. We are kinda sorta working on a project in our second living room. We were forced to rip up the carpet because of a cat pee smell we weren't able to get out. Luckily all of the carpet is pulled up and the smell is GONE! We wanted Larry (Seth's dad) to come over and check out the flooring to see what our options are.

We are still deciding between vinyl and laminate. Any input or advice would greatly appreciated!! Also how do you go about picking out what color wood you want down. So far I'm at a loss!

And about a million other options!

If someone wants to pick for me I wouldn't complain ;)

On Saturday afternoon I headed down to Indy to visit with 2 or my besties Laken and Maddie.

 And for anyone who knows me you know how much driving TERRIFIES me, but anything to spend a little extra time with my girls! We decided to be really fancy and eat dinner at Chipotle. It was fabulous like usual.

Now For the Excitement:

When we got back to Laken's apartment, Maddie said she had something to give to us. We were so excited to see what it was when it was unwrapped!

Btw can we talk about how ADORABLE this is!

Now insert about 15 minutes of jumping up in down, hugging, and screaming about how this year is going to be the greatest year EVER, and you will be about where we were at!

Since Stacie couldn't make it we had to FaceTime her so Maddie could officially ask her (I'm sure her heart was racing again ;))

Of course we had to take LOTS of pictures to remember this moment ;)

The rest of the night was filled with wedding planning, chatting, and LOTS of laughing! I don't know where I would be without these girls.

I got home from Indy at about 11:30 a.m on Sunday. The rest of the day was spent catching up on Game of Thrones with Seth. That show is beyond intense, like yelling out at the TV type of intense. We are now long awaiting the return of the next season in April.





Because let's be honest Daenerys and Tyrion are the 2 GREATEST characters.

Annual Scarf Exchange + The Best Cake Pop I've Ever Had

Hello lovely readers! It's Monday again (doesn't it always feel like Mondays come super fast), but I had such a fabulous weekend :)

On Saturday I got together with my favorite girls (Stacie, Maddie, Laken, and Brianna) for our 2nd annual scarf exchange. To see our picture from last year go here.

Maddie decked our her basement with all kinds of treats. My favorite was her Buffalo Chicken Dip.

We had a BLAST catching up and reminiscing old memories, it almost felt like we were back in high school (I can't even count the number of times we hung out and stayed the night at Maddie's house in Middle and High School).

The Exchange

For our exchange we each bring a scarf and then draw numbers to see the order we pick scarves. The first round everyone opens one of the gifts, and then the second round you can steal a scarf from someone if you want. All the scarves are always super cute so it's a win no matter which one you get ;). The craziest thing happened this year, we all ended up getting the scarf from the same person we got last year. I must say Brianna has very good taste in scarves. 

I got lucky and ended up with 2 scarves :)

After the exchange we attempted to get a good picture of us all in our scarves. (the key word there is attempted!) We definitely got some funny ones though.

I think this one wins as my favorite!

We were trying to get all the scarves in the picture as you can see we pretty much failed, but we did get one good one!

 My New Found Love for Cake Pops

During our get together Laken surprised us by giving us each a cake pop, at first we were all a little confused, but then she clarified for us. She "popped" the question to us and asked us to be Bridesmaids in her wedding next September! I think we were all screaming in excitement for a good 30 seconds.

It was such a great night! Whoever said you don't stay friends with your high school besties never met us ;)

Friday Favorites

Wow, It's Friday!!!! This week has been so crazy I didn't remember it was Friday until I got on to read my blogs and saw all of the "Friday Favorites". It is always strange to have days off from work in the middle of the week, but the best part is I work today and then am off another 2 for the weekend! Doesn't get much better then that :)

One of my very Favorite things right now is the fact that I get to see my Besties tomorrow!!! We will be getting together for our second annual scarf exchange.

That was the picture from our Scarf Exchange last year. We met and had a Starbucks date. I'm so excited because this year we are getting together at Maddie's house and having a slumber party! Even as an adult I enjoy getting together with my favorite girls and having a sleep over.

My "Favorite" New Year Resolutions

1) Making time each morning to spend reading the Bible and Praying. I will need to get myself out of bed earlier to make this happen.

2)  Use Myfitnesspal and stay under my calorie goal everyday. To do that I will need to eat healthier and get in more work outs.

3) Be a better housewife. I want to get in the habit of meal planning and making dinner more often. I also want to do better about keeping the house cleaned and organized. Check out one way I plan to do that here.

It's All About The Rings

Wow, so Christmas is over and boy was it busy! Tomorrow or Sunday I will give you all a run down (with lots of pictures ;)) of how Seth and I's Christmas went, but today I'm just focusing on the rings!

Laken and Bryan are Engaged!!

Laken and I became Besties in 6th grade. We were the kind of friends that would spend HOURS on the phone with each other almost every day. We would talk about boys, make up ridiculous code names, and always have great laughs.  We have been best friends ever since! Sure there were years we fought and bickered, but just because we love each other like sisters ;)

On Christmas Eve Laken's boyfriend Bryan became her Fiance and I could not be happier for the both of them! It's always so great to see your best friends find forever happiness!

The Sweetest Gift

 

Just about 2 months ago Seth's Grandma Hull passed away. It was obviously a very hard and sad time for the family, and with the holidays it always makes it extra difficult. Yesterday afternoon we had Christmas with Grandpa Hull and he game me this beautiful opal ring as a gift. He told me that Grandma had wanted me to have it. It was one of the most amazing and emotional gifts I have ever received. I put it on right away and it hasn't left my hand since! 

So blessed to have gotten to spend so much time with all of Seth and I's families the past couple of days. We still have one more Christmas tonight and then its straight on to New Years!

Friday Favorites!

Wow, I am SO Glad it's Friday again! This week has been pretty crazy, busy, and full of me not having a voice. Today I'm thrilled to be linking up with a few of my very favorite blogs to read to do another "Friday Favorites". Check out Andrea's blog Momfessionals, Erika's blog called A Little Bit of Everything, and Narci's blog called Grace and Love.

1) My number one favorite thing about this week was reconnecting with a couple of my Besties!

 On Wednesday night Maddie and Stacie came over to my house to catch up. It was  so nice getting to chat about random things and laugh! No matter how long we go between seeing each other we always have a great time! Can't wait for our annual scarf exchange in January!!

2) The fact that Christmas is less than a week away!! If you need any ideas on Christmas treats check out my previous post here.

 

3) My Momma goes on my list of favorites this week. Yesterday when I was home sick she rescued me by picking up cat food for my cats, and bringing me all the essentials to feel better. Even as a grown woman I still always want my momma when I'm sick. Love you mom ;)

 4) Nyquil. Yep this is happening, Nyquil is on my list of favorite things. It is the only reason I have been sleeping the past few nights. I like to call it a "nyquil induced coma". Regardless what you call it, It is wonderful.

No I'm not a druggy, and yes I do love Ecards.
