The Season of Prince Farming: Week 1

So I finally was able to watch the premier of The Bachelor last night (thanks Hulu Plus), and let me tell you it did not disappoint! I had no idea the time commitment I was signing up for, but I sat down last night and saw that it was 3 hours long! Yes you read that correctly. I probably could have done with out the hour on the red carpet, but let's be honest it's good to catch up with The Bachelor Family.

My Favorite couple! They will have the cutest babies!!!

I thought Andi looked stunning! Not to mention she made her own dress, that's impressive
I loved Nikki, so much that I hoped Juan wouldn't pick her. I thought she handled the situation like a classy lady.

Finally the hour long red carpet count down was over and we get to see the good stuff: DRAMA! I think that's the only reason I watch the show, you get to see these people act absolutely ridiculous (with a few exceptions) thinking that they are actually going to impress someone with it. Like these for example:

As a ginger I wanted her to make it, but really a pig nose?!?!

This was just a little too creepy for me, and not cute either.
The idea was cute, but came across trying a little too hard. I still think she's adorable though!

I feel like we need to take a minute and talk about Tara. She had some ups and downs during the night. I thought she started off pretty strong, then got REALLY drunk, and I think we were all shocked Chris kept her.
I think she impressed Chris by not dressing up
Then changed because the other girls were judging her. Here is her second first impression with Chris.
and then this happened:

Isn't this a great National Television Look?
But to EVERYONE'S surprise Chris decided to keep Tara around. He is either really understanding of the pressure she was under, or just plain stupid, only time will tell.

Tara wasn't the only one who wasn't at the top of her game, but will still be continuing on for Chris' heart. There is also a lot to say about Ashley S.
She appears completely normal in pictures, but she came across a little crazy on premier night. And by a little crazy I mean VERY crazy.
Like when she picked this "onion" for all America to see
Clearly Chris didn't get the crazy vibe.

Before the premiere I picked my top 10 favorite girls. You can see that list here, 2 of the 10 were eliminated night one (Amanda and Kara). And it's safe to say my favorites have changed. Here are my top 3 favorite girls after the first rose Ceremony.

#3 Whitney:
#2 Kelsey:
#1 Britt:

Lets be honest Chris and Britt had some MAJOR chemistry! I absolutely loved her, her hair is amazing, she was so sweet, and anyone who can get a kiss on the first night deserves a round of applause.

It was quite a night, and based on the preview the rest of the season is going to be just as crazy!! Thanks for reading hope you all enjoyed. I would love to know your thoughts on the premier :)

It's Almost That Time Again...

No, I'm not talking about Christmas. I'm talking about the fact that the next season of The Bachelor starts in just a couple weeks, January 5th to be exact! I love watching The Bachelor, it's so full of drama its addicting. Plus I never would have found Shay's blog (which is one of my favorites) without the help of The Bachelor. She is Sean Lowe's sister, and Sean was the best Bachelor of all time in my professional opinion ;)

This year we are following Chris, the farmer from Iowa. He appeared on Andi's season and had his heart crushed when she sent him home. He is now back again looking for love. Today I'm going to share my top 10 favorite girls, based completely on their pictures and short bios I was able to read on them ;) I'm sure my opinions will change after the premier.

Netflix Anyone?

So Thanksgiving is over, and here in Indiana winter is in full swing. The possible outdoor activities are becoming less and less, and the chance of a snow day is becoming greater and greater. The days of curling up on the couch, sipping hot chocolate, and binge watching TV shows are upon us.

So I am here to save the day and give you some insight on what to watch! (because one of my FAVORITE hobbies is watching Netflix with my hubby... we are the adventurous type I know)

Top 5 shows to binge watch on Netflix

Dexter:
Dexter offers everything you could want in a TV show; It's intense, funny, shocking, and thrilling. It's a show about a serial killer who only kills other serial killers. If that doesn't catch you I don't know what will! There are 8 seasons all streaming currently on Netflix and each one is just as good as the last. If you are looking for a family friendly show this isn't for you, but I know it is one of Seth and I's absolute favorites.

 The Office
If Dexter is a little dark for you have no fear because luckily for you The Office exists. I firmly believe that no matter what your sense of humor is you will laugh while watching this show. I have watched all 9 seasons fully through at least 3 times. Also each episode is only 30 minutes so if you aren't the binge watching type you can always catch an episode here and there when you have a few extra minutes. Definitely a must watch for anyone who likes to laugh (which I'm pretty sure is everyone).

House:
Another must watch is House! The show centralizes on Dr. House, who is known for his terrible bed side manor, but also for is ability to save almost every patient. What at first seems to be just another Doctor show ends up being so much more. After finishing the 8th and final season I actually remember telling Seth how much I missed Dr. House (yes I get attached to fictional TV characters). They do a great job of balancing a central storyline while also bringing a fresh, exciting plot to each episode.

Lost:
If you haven't watched Lost yet now is the time. It is the perfect example of a show that is best binge watched. Every episode of the show ends with you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next to begin. Lost, follows a group of survivors of a plane crash that lands on a less then normal island. All 6 seasons of the show are packed with enough plot twists to keep your head spinning for along while!

Parenthood:
Parenthood has got to be one of my all time favorite shows. It is just a show about life and the struggles that everyone goes through. The characters are so loveable and relatable you start to feel like they are your own family. I have more then once found myself crying uncontrollably because I am so affected by what happens in their lives. The first 5 seasons are currently streaming on Netflix, and the 6th and final season is current airing on NBC on Thursday nights.

Other Notable mentions:

  • Starting on January 1st all 10 seasons of Friends will be streaming on Netflix!!
  • My current Netflix obsession is Revenge, which I'm just starting the second season, but LOVE it!
  • I'm also hooked on Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, and Gilmore girls, so check those out as well!

I would love to hear what you think about the shows I've listed and also hear what shows you love to binge watch that I missed!

Hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing Sunday :)
