I'm REALLY trying to get motivated to lose about 15lbs before the 2 weddings I am in this fall! I shared that I did The Bachelor work out here, and let me tell  you it was TOUGH. When Seth and I watch The Vampire Diaries we are planning on trying their work out as well. There is something about combining watching TV and working out that really appeals to me ;)

Saving money and living on a budget is something Seth and I are always trying to improve at. We have big goals this year to pay off the majority of our debt and build up our savings. Shopping at Aldi has been so helpful with sticking to our grocery budget for the month.

Thankful Thursday

I'm super excited because today my Bestie Maddie over at Miss Matilda May , her sweet Bestie Alli over at On My Way, and I are starting a new weekly series! So many times in life we get swept away in our day to day needs that we forget to stop and just be thankful for what we have. Every Thursday Maddie, Alli and I are just going to share what we are thankful for; whether it be something serious, funny, small, or big. Speaking of being thankful, how cute is the graphic that Maddie made?!

Today I just want to share a few things I'm thankful for so far this week!

 

1) Car Problems

No I'm not thankful for car problems, but what I am thankful for is that we have people to help us so we don't go crazy as a temporary one car family. Very thankful fork Seth's mom (Danielle) and step dad (Matt) being willing to let us borrow their car, and give us rides when need be.

2) The Little Things

On Tueaday when I was reading one of my all time favorite blogs Momfessionals I found out that I won a bracelet giveaway! So thankful that I have gotten into reading (and writing) blogs. AND very thankful that Andrea hosted this giveaway. Check out my bracelets that will be on their way soon!

 3) My Hubby

 He has had SO much training in Indy lately. I'm beyond thankful that next week will be his last trip to Indy in the near future! I always miss him so much when he's gone, life is just so much more enjoyable with him around :)

So thankful to be going on 4 years of marriage with this hunk :)

Bachelor Recap Week 4: The Hardest Episode to Watch

Before I get into the real details of the show let me just share with you why this was the hardest episode to watch. 

For the record I can barely walk today. I kept begging Ashley I to JUST STOP CRYING. Thank goodness there was no hot tubbing in last nights episode.

Lets start with the first group date notables. A lot happens on this impromptu camping trip:  Kaitlyn takes off her bottoms (which becomes SUPER relevant at the cocktail part before the rose ceremony), Kelsey hates her life, Ashley S continues to be crazy AND confesses her love to Chris (Like for real), Mackenzie talks about aliens some more, and Ashley I TRIES to tell Chris she's a virgin. 

Overall the date was pretty lack luster. Kaitlyn got the group date rose, which makes sense because her and Chris really seem to click. The girls all accuse Kelsey of being fake, but I respect that she at least told Chris she wasn't having a great time. 

The best and hardest part to watch was when Ashley I climbs into Chris's tent and thinks she tells him she's a virgin, but really he doesn't have any idea what she's talking about! 

Meanwhile Chris's sisters show up to interview the girls and pick who should go on the one on one date with Chris. Jillian is asleep by the pool with the ever famous censor bar over her rear end. Jade is selected for the Cinderella themed date and I couldn't have been more thrilled! She's so stinkin' darling. 

 They appeared to be a match made in heaven! Jade obviously received a rose and Chris vowed to never look over her again. 

 Back at the house Ashley I clearly can't turn the crazy off and is having a princess themed night of her own.

I'm sure she was just dying to try out her "Kardashian look", because "No one would appreciate that date as much as her". You're right Ashley, you are the only girl who has ever wanted to be treated like a princess!

I have a conspiracy theory that the 2nd group date was devised to get Jillian sent home. Think about it they set it up so its a physical challenge to get one on one time, she has the shortest easiest dress to move in, and we all know if Chris gets enough a lone time with her she's gone. 

Their one on one time was pretty painful to watch, she wouldn't stop talking about herself and eventually Chris tells her he just doesn't think it's going to work out. I did feel a little bad when she started crying (but mainly because that meant 10 more V-ups).

Highlights From The Cocktail Party

Virgin Clarification:

Ashley FINALLY tells Chris she's a virgin, and like expected she made a much bigger deal about it then necessary. The greatest part is when Becca acts like a normal person and says "I'm a virgin too, its just a choice I made".  Thank you Becca!! It is something to be proud of not something that you need to feel ashamed and insecure about. 

Britt Confronts Chris

 I LOVE Britt, I mean she has been my favorite since night #1. She is just so adorable and sweet. I actually respected her being honest with Chris about how she felt. Unfortunately it ALWAYS looks bad when the girls spend more time talking about other girls in the house then just enjoying time with Chris. Chris didn't take to the confrontation well and I got nervous for a minute that Britt was going bye bye. 

3 More Girls Go Home

After 8 roses are given out (and 80 squats later), Ashley S, Juelia, and Nikki are sent home. I did a little party dance that Chris kept Britt around!! 

So far the drama has been unmatchable this season! Can't wait until next week. Have a great Tuesday Readers :)

If You Don't Take A Picture, Did It Really Happen?

First of all Happy Thursday! All week I've been feeling kind of off a day, Tuesday felt like Monday and so on. I am thrilled that today is Thursday because it's one day closer to the weekend AND because Seth gets back from his training in Indy tonight (insert long sigh of relief).

My Kitties also cannot wait for Seth to get home. As crazy as it sounds I think they have like separation anxiety or something with him because they go NUTS when he isn't home. They also have a tendency to not let me sleep past 6 a.m. (which if you know me is WAY too early).  They also convinced me this morning that someone had broken in to our house so I had to get up and check every room, but in reality the incessant meowing and loud noises were just their plea to get me out of bed.

I also realize that I sound like a crazy cat lady, and well quite frankly I just may be. Oh well it's kind of fun, and if I'm a crazy cat lady then Seth is most definitely a crazy cat man ;)

Wow so my mind is all over the place today! I promise their is a point to this post so don't lose hope in me quite yet. Last night I made the most delicious black bean and corn salsa, but in a bloggers nightmare I was so excited that I forgot to take ANY pictures. How in the world am I supposed to give you step by step directions on this delicious treat without pictures? And this brings up the real question, if you don't take a picture did it really happen?? 

Well for the record it did really happen and luckily I got the recipe off of Pinterest (like most recipes I use).

Ingredients

1 can black beans (rinsed and drained)

1 can corn (drained)

1 cup chopped tomatoes

1/4 c purple onion

approx. 1/2 C chopped cilantro

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp lemon juice

It is really just as easy as chopping the ingredients up and mixing them together! It has such a fresh taste and is good for you too!

My LONG Weekend Recap

So it's Tuesday and my long weekend has unfortunately come to an end. On Friday evening after work I went over to my sister Amanda's house to hang out with her and my nieces. It was a very silly night filled with all kinds of events like:

 Mayleigh eating pizza off the (clean) floor.

Emree being tormented by Mayleigh.

Emree just being adorable.

 and....Amanda dressing up as Sophia.

We also painted nails and after the girls were in bed Amanda and I watched Parenthood, and I still teared up even though I had seen that episode already! (unhealthy side note: on my way home at about 10:30 I picked up Mcdonalds for me and Seth :P)

On Saturday we spent a lot of the day being REAL lazy, but we also accomplished getting a couple loads of laundry done, all the dishes caught up, and the house cleaned! We went over to my brother Alex's house later in the evening and hung out with him and my SIL Ashley. 

We played a game of Dominion Intrigue 

And Seth came out victorious. That sneaky kid always wins that game.

On Sunday we went to my Grammy's house for Sunday Dinner. My Grammy is an amazing cook and made roast, cabbage, cooked carrots, and the most delicious Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I only snapped a few pictures on Sunday, but here they are:

Wanted to get a good pic of Emree in the outfit I got her for Christmas. These are the best I could do, she was sleepy :P

On Monday we had a scare with my little Braylin being sick so she got LOTS of extra cuddles from her Aunt Addie

Spend the majority of the day Monday at my Mom's house with her and my sisters Anna and Amanda (and their children of course ;)) We just chatted, watched Frozen, and ate Mcdonalds (I know 2 times in one weekend is bad news.)

Seth and I just relaxed the rest of the evening, I even took a little nap. It was WONDERFUL. Seth got all of his clothes packed up for another short trip to Indy for training. He leaves this afternoon at about 2 and will be back Thursday night. 

Other exciting news!

My bridesmaid dress for Laken's wedding has been shipped! Can't wait to get it and try it on :)
